This article will help guide you through the process of setting up the VPN client on your personal computer and connecting remotely to your work computer.

Installing the VPN client

It is only a few steps to configure the VPN connection. First, download and install the client.

If you don’t see the View Downloads button, you may need to scroll down.

  1. Please go to the following link: https://www.checkpoint.com/products/remote-access-vpn/

  2. Click the View Downloads button.

  3. Select the Windows version

  4. Download and run the installer

    1. Click Next until presented with the option for Endpoint Security VPN, select it and click Next

    2. Accept the License Agreement, click Next

    3. Click Install

Setting up the VPN connection

Once installed, the client will start in a minimized state down by the clock.

If you are currently on campus, vpn.felician.edu will not resolve.

These instructions are intended for use at home or on a personal computer.

  1. Double click the yellow lock icon and proceed through the setup wizard when prompted

  2. Click Next until prompted for the Server address or Name, enter vpn.felician.edu

  3. Click Finish once the process completes

Connecting to the VPN

With the site successfully added the next step is to connect to the VPN.

  1. Right click on the VPN icon in the bottom right and click Connect

  2. Enter your Felician Username (your full email address) and Password, then click Connect

  3. Once connected successfully, the icon will change to green, and if you have sound enabled, will hear a little tweet / chirp noise.

Once you have finished with your work, remember to disconnect from the VPN client by right clicking the icon from Step 1 and disconnecting.

Connecting to your work computer

Once connected, you’ll be able to remotely connect to your office computer as though you were actively working in front of it. To get started:

  1. Open the Start Menu and simply begin typing Remote Desktop Connection, open the app

  2. Enter your computer name and click Connect, you should see a prompt for your username and password
